ABOUT
James Kydd, based in Calgary, Alberta, has dedicated more than two decades of his professional life to Canada’s oil and gas industry. After studying mechanical engineering at the University of Alberta, James started his career in project management positions with some of Alberta’s leading oil and gas companies. As he advanced in the field, he enhanced his qualifications by completing several industry-specific certifications, paving the way for his promotion to Construction Manager and Senior Operations Manager. In these roles, he managed the construction and maintenance of major infrastructure projects, led large teams of skilled workers, and ensured that all operations met strict safety and quality standards.
Today, James serves as Vice President at a major pipeline company. In this capacity, he oversees some of the most critical projects in the industry, including the TransMountain Expansion Pipeline, the Coastal Gas Link Pipeline, the North Montney Mainline, and the Seven Gens Gathering. His responsibilities include project planning, scheduling, and cost management.
Throughout his career, James Kydd has demonstrated superior negotiating and people skills, having coordinated with union leadership, third-party contractors, and landowners in advancing projects. He has also developed a distinct talent for financial management, having managed complex, billion-dollar budgets. James has cultivated an outstanding reputation within the Western Canadian energy industry.
